Wine Kura
The cellar above the street
Past the bright station-front, up a small stair, the cellar opens. Heavy beams, a single oak plank for a counter — an adult hideaway in an old folk-house, loved in Ogikubo for thirteen years.
"Some nights I'd rather not go straight home."
That's the night Kura is for. Through the bright and rushing front-of-station, up a quiet stair, into a room where the beams are dark and the counter is one piece of timber. A glass is poured, and the season — the chef's refined, creative cooking — is paired with the bottle.
Some nights you sit alone. Some nights you talk across the counter. Either way, by morning, something has shifted. An unpretentious hideaway for grown-ups.

Beams, a single plank, bottles on the shelf.
